Project Promotes Electric Auto Adoption among drivers in Bengaluru

Towards promoting the core goal of this project of reducing carbon emissions from auto-rickshaw sector, the project is actively promoting the adoption of electric auto-rickshaws among auto-drivers in Bengaluru. Besides launching a pilot in Chennai with three vehicles, the project is implementing a circular economy based model where on one side, it is supporting an old 2 stroke driver to retro-fit an electric kit. On the other side, in collaboration with the Social Enterprise Three Wheels United, a buy back scheme is launched that allows auto-rickshaw drivers to sell back their vehicles older than 10 years and buy a new electric auto-rickshaw.( Read the press release of TWU on the recently launched Buy Back Scheme)
